Two of Groninger Museum’s concurrent exhibitions play with light. Roosegaarde typcially builds large outdoor installations with a ‘wow’ factor. Lacking contextual connection inside a gallery the novelty of playing with photoluminescent surfaces soon wears off.
Struycken is totally immersive, exploding colours in two multi-screen interpreations to traditional and contemporary classical scores. Both create a balletic narrative to the computer-generated imagery. Shamefully few seats are provided to let you luxuriate in the experience.
