Einstein on the Beach (4.0/5)

Parred back to musicians, choir and narrator the genius of Glass’ opera is on full display. The vocalists and soloists on violin and keyboards are crystal clear, their ability to master complex and repetitive patterns an aural and visual marvel. Long, at 31/2 hours the hypnotic tone patterns pass quickly and reward with a beautiful and touching conclusion in which Suzanne Vega’s indiscernible narration suddenly become distinct and powerful.
