Art and About: a personal blog comprising "On Show" arts reviews (all in 75 words or less) and travel diaries. I write about what matters to me. The Arts matter because they offer joy and sadness, thrills and insights. Travel matters because like the Arts it broadens the mind and soul with new experiences.

Tom Jones (4.0/5)
Tom Jones' distinctive Welsh baritone needed no grand production to entertain a full-house. Singing slightly within himself on a very hot night the audience appreciated a more soulful, gospel, sound than the booming sex bomb of old. No more so than in powerful and moving renderings of "Elvis Presley Blues" and Leonard Cohen's "Tower Of Song", with minimal accompaniment. A contemplative set reflecting fifty years of musical knowledge and experience.
