A Bigger Splash (3.0/5)

A story of operatic proportions though lacking intervals and somewhat over-long.  Ex-diva with young lover; older ex-lover with estranged daughter makes for multiple love-triangles. With the focus on Fiennes' charismatic, self-centred, egotist Swinton, Johnson and Schoenaerts deliver a smouldering intensity cumulating in a nihilistic murder, whilst Syrian refugees create a counter-point to our indulgence.  A movie that languishes a little too much between attention grabbing emotional outbursts.
