Diary 2014-21
Where: Further Up North: Silkborg, Aalborg and Skagen
When: 28-29th June 2014
We missed the lakes and preserved bog-men and arrived in Silkborg on Jazz Festival Day for some pleasurable foot-tapping entertainment. Onto Aalborg, an ex-industrial town with an exceptional underground Francisan Monastery Museum with carefully exposed excavations, a fine church and old town, the Utzon Centre and good food. Skagen is as far north as Denmark goes, with its wind swept beaches and dunes, and criss-crossing tidal currents; a bracing walk even on a good day.
