Where: Up North: Odense & Hans Christian Andersen

Heading north through Denmark’s green and pleasant land that ripples rather than rolls to Odense, home of an excellent museum to the town’s best known citizen. To whom there was more than half-a-dozen fairy tales as HC Andersen Hus comprehensively accounts in a series of interesting displays. For children there is a separate “Tinderbox” Hus - what a good idea. Odense itself has a pretty historic quarter and today a community festival full of bonhomie and completely lost on us.
