Diary 2014-11
Where: Up North: the old
When: 15-16th June 2014
A chance for my Mother and I to catch-up with Carole who is working at Jodrell Bank Observatory near Manchester.
An area new to me, rich in history and footballers. Knutsford (est.C11th) with its narrow streets, named for King Canute of England and Denmark, there’s a coincidence! Great food at the Rose ’N Crown (est.1641) then drool at the car dealerships: McLaren, Rolls & Land Rover. Jodrell Bank set in it’s own Arboretum, a dish to rival The Dish back in Australia. The Visitor Centre favours children so retire to the cafe, which makes great British tea.
