Fast-paced
two-hander takes the hostage-scenario "Stockholm Syndrome" into a
love relationship: a paradox, an emotionally tied couple despite the violence
between them. Third-person narrative
links intimate, heated, first-person scenes – clever, though the breathless
pace left me behind in places. Having
established the tension between the couple the drama, like the love and
violence, repeated itself. Whilst a
stimulating piece of contemporary theatre with tonal qualities to its dialogue
one is left somewhat unsatisfied and exhausted.
