Ian Potter Gallery, Melbourne
6th May 2012
Well
thought-out retrospective that intelligently traces William’s development as an
artist from apprentice to master of minimalist Australian landscape. Though as the informative captioning explains
William’s skill was in combining just the right amount of several modern styles
into his own. Each work is laced with a
subtle appreciation of the bushes’ colours, shades and harshness whilst leaving
enough space to bring your own sense of place.
Impressive and contemplative.
