An interesting endeavour illustrating the (collapsing) American Dream through the evolution of realism artwork. With few standout works the exhibition relies upon somewhat disjointed interpretation leaving no real flow - reading the guide is essential. Hopper’s ‘New York Restaurant’ and ‘Morning Sun’ are inspired bookends to the parallel narratives, one industrious the other reflective. Many of the works resonate in today’s climate. A thoughtful exhibition with limited resources.
