20:21 (5.0/5)

A faultless program of contemporary ballet and music.  On a bare, simply lit, stage the dancers demonstrated their mastery of Balanchine's synchronised flowing "Symphony" of movements to one of Stravinsky's more listenable pieces.  In stark contrast Filigree and Shadow is aggressive and darkly lit to a haunting score - gripping and absorbing like a horror movie.  Glass' In the Upper Room is equally insistent, the dancers soaring to Tharp's exhausting choreography.  Two modern classics and one in the making.
