Art and About: a personal blog comprising "On Show" arts reviews (all in 75 words or less) and travel diaries. I write about what matters to me. The Arts matter because they offer joy and sadness, thrills and insights. Travel matters because like the Arts it broadens the mind and soul with new experiences.

James Turrell: A Retrospective (4.5/5)
All artists work with light, Turrell makes light work for him. Through drawings then projection, windows and rooms Turrell uses light and form to create a new world of visual triggers: 2D becomes 3D, the finite appears infinite. Gentle pastel colours are juxtaposed with disconcerting visual clues that stimulate the intellect whilst soothing the soul. This is a genuine retrospective that reveals James Turrell's evolving practice whilst leaving the viewer in awe of his talent.
