Where: England & Denmark, Old & New

Long ago Vikings settled England and were absorbed into the emerging Kingdom that went on to rule the world. Meanwhile Denmark modernised over the centuries with fewer of the wars dotted through English history. Today both are constitutional monarchies - Denmark, quietly self-confident, selective in its EU role; England unsure of its welfare state democracy and EU position. Post industrial-era, post-GFC one will overcome by commitment to quality and equality, the other must find its way or fall to mediocrity.
