Relaxed, cultured and friendly the Danes make holidaying easy. Not everyone is tall and blond, but enough to catch the eye when not avoiding the bicycles. Nor, is there a “danish” to be found, though the excellent food everywhere from smorgasbord to pastries is something to savour. The simplistic, functional, so pleasing lines of Danish design may be C21st yet their heritage is everywhere from Vikings through the Renaissance to today.
