Leonard Cohen (4.5/5)
Perth Arena

Crystal clear renditions, each instrument played by a master, a chorus line in perfect harmony, a poet both reverential and revered. It is rare to go to a concert with every number delivered perfectly. Is it pedantic to suggest a little more variety in tempo would have enlivened an experience that seared the soul with heartbreak and joy? From the bitter sweet spoken words of A Thousand Kisses Deep, to the humble If it Be Your Will, sung in sublime harmony by the Webb Sisters and the optimism of Anthem; Leonard Cohen delivers a eulogy shaped by 79 years of life's experiences with which few will compare.
Art and About: a personal blog comprising "On Show" arts reviews (all in 75 words or less) and travel diaries. I write about what matters to me. The Arts matter because they offer joy and sadness, thrills and insights. Travel matters because like the Arts it broadens the mind and soul with new experiences.
