The Last Highway (0.5/5)
Urban Theatre Projects, Sydney Festival
A warehouse in Bankstown, 18th January 2008

You and I may only visit a late night service station once or twice a year. For some people it’s their life: attendants, taxi drivers, prostitutes, snack food vendors. One imagines that the night shift is long and boring – this was! Even boredom is punctuated by moments of intensity – through racial harassment, rape and drugs this production was largely one paced. Too much socialism and not enough social commentary to have anything interesting to say.
