Deep Time (4.0/5)

Colourful projections and thumping orchestral rock music take us back far into geological time and what better place than the volcanic plug of Castle Rock.  It's dramatic and ambitious, perhaps overly so as some of the detailed imaginary is lost in the craggy rock face.  Nonetheless a spectacular public opening event for the Edinburgh International Festival, even the weather played its part adding a wind-swept backdrop of storm clouds.
