A deft visualisation of Martel's evocative storytelling, faithful to its origins. At heart a wondrous tale of survival, this intriguing castaway story has many levels that Lee wisely leaves to the viewer's reflections. The animal/CGI performances are extraordinary whilst 3D is used with a light touch in this beautifully presented film.
