The Dinner Guest (2/5) (L’invite - dir. Laurent Bouhnik)

Despite their social ineptitude Gerard (Daniel Auteuil) invites his new boss home for dinner with him and his wife Colette (Valerie Lemercier). Neighbour and life coach Alexander (Thierry Lhermitte) comes to the ‘rescue’ imposing his own eclectic style on the bewildered couple. A gentle sit-com emerges that pleasantly passes away the time; in avoiding any temptation to belittle its characters the laughter is light rather than fulsome.
